Q-HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. We come to your school with everything necessary for a fantastic class. We then quickly and efficiently prepare the room and equipment for the class.
2. The Flying Angels instructor collects the first group of children and has them gather around the parachute to begin class.
3. The fun begins as the jumping, spinning, stretching, strengthening, rolling, swinging, balancing and going upside-down gives every child multiple success based learning experiences.
4. 30 minutes later, the Flying Angels instructor returns the happy and tired children back into the care
of the preschool teachers.
Q-What actually happens in a class?
A- Every Flying Angels Gymnastics class begins around the multi-colored parachute with a fun-filled and engaging warm-up. This will include movement based stories, body-part-identifying (knees, elbows, ankles, etc.), jumps, turns, stretches, and our special Flying Angels “brain challenges” that help children integrate the different regions of their body using mental challenges that are silly, fun and educational. We then move into a selection of skills on the tumbling mats, specially designed bars and balance beams. The skills are then integrated into obstacle courses or skill stations that keep kids moving, sequencing and developing their skills. Every class closes with our circle time shout of “I DID IT!”
Q- How much space is needed?
A- The minimum space required is about 200 sq ft or 12ft X 17ft. A smaller space can work with smaller groups. Larger is better. A carpeted space is best, but not required as we do bring mats.
Q-How long are the classes?
A- Each Flying Angels class is 30 minutes of muscle working, brain stimulating, invigorating challenges that leave children tired but eager for their next class.
Q-How many children in a class?
A- Most classes have about 10 children. The Flying Angels instructor will consult with you about the best way to group your children.
Q- How old should a child be to participate?
A- Flying Angels gymnastics classes are perfect for ages 3 and up. Sometimes an almost-3 year old will follow along with the class but we would have discussed this with the classroom teacher ahead of time.
Q-Is a Preschool Staff person required to participate?
A- No. Flying Angels Gymnastics instructors are in charge of every aspect of the class and do not require assistance. Schools usually require that one of their teachers or aides be present in the classroom with their children and we provide guidelines to assist with this.
And finally…
